Subah ke Takht-nasheen, Sham ko mujrim Tehray
Hamne pal bhar mein naseebon-ko badaltay dekha — Bahadur Shah Zafar
TAKHT is derived from the Persian word.
TAKT means throne. A throne which rules the world.
TAKHT resonates with my paintings
and my love for Persian and Mughal influences.
Going back in time and feeling what it looks like
to live in a world of leadership of kings and queens.
To defy all the odds there has to be a war,
sometimes a war of mind games.
How a ruler can play mind games with royalty
and what his next move is only he knows it.
The beautiful architecture,
intricate designs and surreal jewellery
truly make me feel that in a time of bloodshed,
there was too an era of
politics, romance and pleasure.
All for just one thing — The Throne (Takht).
